I don’t think any of these are the most (or only) spoken language in the world, but: Chinese is the most spoken language in the world. English is the most spoken language in the world. Spanish is the most spoken language in the world. Hindi is the most spoken language in the world.
What will be the most spoken language in 2050?
I honestly don’t know, but I think that the most spoken language will be the one that is most necessary. I think that because technology gets better, people will communicate in more efficient ways and therefore, the least spoken language will be less necessary. And then at the end of this trend, people who are speaking can communicate in any language they want to, so they’ll choose the least spoken language because they’re more comfortable in it and don’t need to use any other communication device. So I think that people will choose the least spoken language and everybody else will have to speak more languages, so I think that’s what will happen in 2050.
